A Weekend In Palm Springs

Palm Springs… the home of festivals, trendy hotels, endless shopping, golf courses and spa days. It’s no wonder this desert playground has been a vacation favorite for more than 80 years!

A few days here is the ideal weekend refresher: a poolside tan, delicious food and clothing outlets for days. Seriously, what more could you ask for!? Oh, and the moderate desert climate makes for an enjoyable vaycay year round. Sounds like perfection!

The city is within easy reach of Southern California and is surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery. So, turn on some tunes, roll down the windows and enjoy the serene drive through the desert on your way to Palm Springs!

WHERE TO STAY

The Skylark: Built in the 1950’s but updated with a modern twist, the Skylark is exactly what comes to mind when thinking of a Palm Springs hotel. It’s pastel color palette and beautiful mountain views are ideal for the perfect Palm Springs photo shoot with your pals. Oh, and did I mention there is a palm tree shaped hot tub?

The Ace: This is a popular spot with a great reputation. The Ace hotel hosts live events, features a stunning pool and is meant for those looking to mingle with fellow Palm Springs vacationites!

Riviera Palm Springs: If you’re looking to pamper yourself then look no further. The Riviera is an elegant resort getaway with a luxurious spa, gourmet restaurants and beautiful guest rooms. There’s a reason Hollywood legends like Frank Sinatra use to frequent this hotel!

WHERE TO EAT

Cheeky’s: Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day so trust that I wouldn’t lead you wrong! For delicious (and healthy) breakfast options along with a superb cup of coffee, make you’re way to Cheeky’s.

El Tropical: A popular local hotspot with a great cocktail selection, yummy appetizers and beautiful out door seating. Also great for lovers as the décor and lighting is so romantic!

Birba: Only open for dinner and drinks, this Italian restaurant has a mouth-watering menu. The bar is happy to make signature cocktails based on what you like and the beautifully lit outdoor seating area has a laid-back, upscale vibe.

WHAT TO DO

Shop: The Desert Hills Premium Outlets has just about anything your heart desires when it comes to name brands. If that’s not enough, head over to El Paseo Drive where you’ll find high end shopping, boutique shopping and an excellent selection of restaurants.

Explore: Palm Springs is full of fun excursions and sightseeing!

  1. If you’re an avid hiker, make your way up to San Jacinto Peak for a beautiful view of the mountains.
  2. Take a tour of the mesmerizing windmill farm you see on your drive in.
  3. Enjoy a leisurely ride on the rotating tram cars of the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway.
  4. Golf at one of the many golf courses that boast stunning scenery.
  5. Drive through the city to admire the fun retro architecture and design like the popular “pink door” house!

Relax: You know the feeling of needing vacation after your vacation? This time that’s not the case. You came here for a weekend getaway to let go a little… SO DO THAT. Grab a beverage, lay by the pool, take a nap or get a massage. This is what Palm Springs is known best for a probably the sole purpose of your trip!
